Prof. Dr. Andrij Pich
Andrij Pich ist ein Experte in der Synthese von Makromolekülen mit maßgeschneiderter Struktur und Architektur und nutzt hierfür verschiedene anspruchsvolle Polymerisationstechniken. Für seine Forschung zieht er Inspiration aus biologischen Systemen und konzentriert sich insbesondere auf das chemische Design von Makromolekülen, die auf externe Stimuli reagieren, sich selbstständig zusammensetzen und deren Abbau sich programmieren lässt. Er besitzt eine große Expertise in der Synthese von Nano- und Mikrogelen und deren Nutzung für die Herstellung weicher, interaktiver Materialien mit aktiven Eigenschaften. Solche Eigenschaften sind zum Beispiel Formveränderungen, die Erkennung bestimmter Strukturen oder die Möglichkeit der Regeneration für einen Einsatz in der Katalyse, Pflanzenzucht, Biomaterialien und Beschichtungen.
Resume
Seit 2009 ist Andrij Pich Lichtenberg-Professor für Funktionale und Interaktive Polymere an der RWTH Aachen University. Zusätzlich hat er seit 2019 neben seiner Haupttätigkeit am DWI und an der RWTH die Professur für bio-basierte Polymere (Teilzeit-Professur) am Aachen-Maastricht Institute of Bio-Based Materials an der Universität Maastricht inne. Nach einem Studium der chemischen Technologie in Lviv (Ukraine) promovierte Andrij Pich 2001 an der Technischen Universität Dresden. Die Jahre 2006 und 2007 verbrachte er als Postdoc an der University of Toronto (Canada). 2007 erhielt er den Georg Manecke-Preis der Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker (GDCh) und schloss 2008 seine Habilitation an der Technischen Universität Dresden ab. Die Forschung der Arbeitsgruppe von Andrij Pich beschäftigt sich mit der Synthese funktionaler Polymere und Polymerkolloide mit diversen chemischen Strukturen und Morphologien sowie ihrer Anwendung für die Fabrikation von funktionalen interaktiven Materialien.
