Der Forschungsschwerpunkt von Selin Bulut liegt auf der Entwicklung und Untersuchung biobasierter Mikrogele, die z. B. aus Dextran bestehen, sowie supramakromolekularer Mikrogele, deren Morphologie, Porosität, mechanische Festigkeit und Form durch tropfenbasierte Mikrofluidik moduliert werden können. Das Hauptziel besteht darin, die Mikrogele zu zellkompatiblen 3D-Netzwerken zu verbinden, die als Gerüste für die Gewebezüchtung verwendet werden können.
