Machine Learning on Structure-Property Relationships of Soft Materials

Arbeitsgruppe: AG Lorenz

Project Description

We want to study how we can predict and design soft materials with machine learning. To this end, literature needs to be screened and experiments to test the algorithm need to be designed.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

Knowledge about these techniques is advantageous but not required.

  • Sample preparation (biochemical laboratory)
  • Sample imaging (fluorescence microscopy, bright field microscopy)
  • Data acquisition and analysis (e.g. with python)
  • Programming and algorithm design (e.g. in python)

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic student to join our RG Lorenz. You should be enrolled in a university program in physics, materials science, biotechnology, biology, chemistry, or a related field, with a strong interest in biophysics. A willingness to learn new skills, high proficiency in English (written and spoken), and an independent work manner are highly valued for this position.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge research project aimed to solve an unsolved challenge in the field of biophysics.
  • Enhance your practical skills in biophysical research and data analysis through hands-on experience with state-of-the-art techniques.
  • An inclusive and team-oriented work environment in an international, dynamic setting.
  • The guidance and support of an experienced team
