Prof. Dr. Martin Möller
Martin Möller und seine Arbeitsgruppe befassen sich mit oligomeren und polymeren Bausteinen, die sich zu komplexen Nanostrukturen und funktionalen Systemen anordnen können. Ein Schwerpunkt liegt hier auf wasserlöslichen und aus wässriger Lösung gebildeten Polymeren. Dies beinhaltet sowohl die Synthese kleinster Partikel als auch die Synthese uniformer, linearer und verzweigter Makromoleküle mit funktionellen und reaktiven Seiten- und Endgruppen.
Resume
Martin Möller übernahm 2002 nach Stationen an der Universiteit Twente und der Universität Ulm die Professur für Textilchemie und Makromolekulare Chemie der RWTH Aachen. Von 2003 bis Juli 2019 war er Direktor des DWI. Seit 2019 ist er Seniorprofessor der RWTH Aachen und Assoziierter Wissenschaftler am DWI. Martin Möller hat in Hamburg und Freiburg Chemie studiert. Er ist Mitglied der Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften/acatech sowie der Nordrhein-Westfälischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste und übt vielfältige Tätigkeiten in verschiedenen Wissenschaftsorganisationen aus. 2002 wurde er mit dem Körber-Preis für die Europäische Wissenschaft ausgezeichnet und 2012 wurde er zum Ehrendoktor und Senatsmitglied der Technischen Universität Cluj-Napoca (Rumänien) ernannt. 2014 bekam er den Hermann-Staudinger-Preis der Gesellschaft deutscher Chemiker und 2016 einen ERC Advanced Grant für das Projekt ‚Jellyclock‘. Martin Möller ist Mitglied des Fachkollegiats ‚Polymerforschung‘ der DFG und gehört dem Vorstand der Max Planck School 'Matter to Life' an. Sein Forschungsgebiet ist die Synthese neuer Polymere und selbstorganisierender Polymersysteme.
