Prof. Dr. Igor Potemkin
Das Hauptziel der Arbeitsgruppe von Igor Potemkin steht in Verbindung mit den theoretischen Studien und Computersimulationen der Eigenschaften von makromolekularen Objekten sowie deren Selbstassemblierung in komplexe Strukturen. Diese Untersuchungen werden in enger Zusammenarbeit mit den Arbeitsgruppen des DWI durchgeführt. Neben Polymeren mit "einfacher" Primärstruktur (wie lineare Blockcopolymere) werden komplexere Architekturen (Arboreszenz, Kamm, Gel, etc.) und Sequenzen von Monomereinheiten (Gradient) untersucht. Die Untersuchungen konzentrieren sich auf die Auswirkungen der Mizell- und Gelbildung in Lösungen, die Mikrophasentrennung in konzentrierten Lösungen, Schmelzen und dünnen Schichten. Die statistische Physik von Polyelektrolytlösungen und Interpolyelektrolytkomplexen ist für die Gruppe von besonderem Interesse. Besonderes Augenmerk wird auf die Untersuchung der Wechselwirkungen von Polyelektrolyt Nano- und Mikrogelen verschiedener Strukturen mit entgegengesetzt geladenen Polyelektrolyten gelegt. Niedermolekulare ionische Flüssigkeiten, flüssigkristalline Polymere und polymerbasierte Molekularmotoren werden ebenfalls untersucht.
