Research Group Boersma

Synthetic Biochemistry
No
Expertise

The core expertise of the group revolves around synthetic biochemistry and chemical biology that is applied to creative design of new proteins or systems. This includes techniques from molecular biology (various cloning techniques, protein design, production and purification), techniques from cell biology (mammalian cells, yeast cells, bacterial cells, gene editing (e.g. CRISPR), confocal fluorescence microscopy), techniques from biophysics (electrophysiology, vesicle formation, fluorometry, circular dichroism) and chemistry (protein post-translational modification, native chemical ligation, synthetic organic chemistry, physical chemistry and a range of analytical techniques).
