EcoGuard

Rainproof delivery systems to protect vine against vine peronospora and cherry vinegar fly (2818OE039)

The reduction of insecticides and fungicides is of great importance for sustainable and ecological agriculture. In the EcoGuard Project, scientists from DWI (RG Pich and RG Schwaneberg), RWTH and JKI join forces to develop rain-fasten delivery systems (based on the GreenRelease technology), for the effective protection of grapevines against downy mildew and the cherry vinegar fly. Together with new production and application technologies, the technology will be validated in field trials. Due to the exclusive use of biocompatible materials and the significantly reduced usage of insecticides and pesticides, this approach represents an innovative platform technology for organic farming.
