European Soft Matter Infrastructure

Transnational access to synthesis routes for novel materials

The primary objective of EUSMI at DWI is to provide academic and industrial users with transnational access to a versatile synthesis platform and a comprehensive material toolbox for soft matter research. We focus on systems that are structured on different length scales and show tunable dynamics on different timescales, emphasizing above all detailed control over molecular and colloidal forces, and targeting highly ordered structures. These systems are supposed to ensure success in the overall scope of the EUSMI program.
