PhD student
Rajat Anand, M.Sc.
Rajat Anand is a Molecular Biologist with a background in Biotechnology. His doctoral research at DWI focuses on genetically engineering lactic acid bacteria (LAB) — a group of probiotic bacteria naturally capable of producing antimicrobial peptides called bacteriocins. Using CRISPR/Cas9, he has enhanced bacteriocin production/ antimicrobial activity in L. plantarum 8P-A3 strain, and is also working on engineered living material (ELM) platforms, including ProbioPad 2.0, ProbioGel, and electrospun fibrous biomaterials.
Rajat Anand is part of the RG De Laporte
