Rod-shaped microgels

Continuous fabrication of rod-shaped microgels to investigate their structural assembly

Tailor-made microgel building blocks are synthesized with the goal to control their geometry and internal structure using different static and dynamic preparation methods, such as PRINT, microfluidics, flow lithography, and core/shell-electrospinning. Through our understanding in chemistry and engineering, monodisperse microgels with a wide range in size and aspect ratio are produced in high throughput. We further analyze the mechanical properties of the microgels and superstructures that can be formed with them.
