Development of a new spacer for the reduction of side effects in the radiotherapy of prostate cancer

The aim of the project is the development of a new temporary spacer material for protecting the rectum during the irradiation of prostate carcinomas, whose properties exceed the state of the art. The particular scientific challenge of the project lies in the development of a "ready-to-use" 2-component material that can be injected into the patient in a single application step through a minimally invasive application.
