Microgel-based membranes
Microgel-based membranes with antifouling characteristics (19809 N)
Hollow fiber membranes are widely used in sanitary water treatment, food industry and the medical sector. The adsorption of feed stream components onto the surface of or within the pores of a membrane, which leads to an irreversible deterioration in productivity, is called fouling. Improvement of the antifouling characteristics is achieved by membrane hydrophilization through the covalent immobilization of functionalized zwitterionic microgels on the surface of modified PES membranes in an economically attractive one-step process.
