Prof. Dr. Martin Möller
Research of Martin Möller and his group is directed towards oligomer and polymer building blocks that can undergo self-assembly to complex nanostructures and functional systems. Emphasis is laid on water-soluble and water-born polymers. This involves the synthesis of ultra-small particles, as well as synthesis of uniform linear and branched macromolecules with functional and reactive side and end groups.
Curriculum Vitae
Martin Möller is a Senior Professor at RWTH Aachen University and an Associated Scientist of the DWI. From 2002 until 2019 he was professor for Textile Chemistry and Macromoleculary Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University, after being professor at the University of Twente (NL) and Ulm University. From 2003 till July 2019 he was scientific director of the DWI. He studied chemistry in Hamburg and Freiburg. He is a member of the “Akademie der Technischen Wissenschaften”/acatech and of the Nordrhein-Westfälische Akademie der Wissenschaften und Künste. In addition, he is active in a large variety of scienctific organizations. In 2002 he was decorated with the Körber Award for European Science and in 2014 he received the Herrmann-Staudinger Award of the ‘Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker’. He is a board member of the Max Planck School 'Matter to Life' and holds an ERC Advanced Grant for his project ‘Jellyclock’. His field of research is the synthesis of new polymers and self-assembly of polymer systems.
