Heat-insulating textile coatings

Heat-insulating and dirt-repellent light nanoporous textile coatings

The project focuses on the development of thermally insulating and dirt repellent light textile coatings. By blending of novel inorganic nanoparticles with polymer matrices nanoporous structures and nanostructured surfaces are developed that can be applied by established coating processes. The challenge is to generate highly filled, stable polymer dispersions with hollow particles leading to coatings with a porosity above 50 %.
