Research interest
Philip Pietryszek has a background in chemistry with a specialization in catalysis, polymers, and (bio)materials. At DWI, he is part of the international project “Mend the Gap” to investigate the use of an injectable hydrogel system, called Anisogel, to enhance nerve fiber regrowth in the injured spinal cord. Therefore, he will be working with different compositions for the Anisogel to study their properties within in vitro experiments regarding overall chemical properties, injectability, and cell viability to find the most promising candidate for use in animal studies.
