PhD Davood Khoeini

Dr. Davood Khoeini is a postdoctoral researcher at DWI, working on the design and microfabrication of microfluidic systems for the encapsulation of spheroids in synthetic hydrogels for the 3D bioprinting of synthetic organs capable of supporting cell growth.

Prior to joining DWI, he received his PhD from Monash University in Melbourne, where his research focused on the microfluidic-assisted self-assembly of nanostructures. The lab-on-a-chip approach developed during his research enabled precise control over the composition of reaction mixtures in self-assembly processes, allowing for the fabrication of more sophisticated imine-based self-assembled constructs with potential applications in drug discovery systems and at tissue–prosthesis interfaces.
