Research interest
Lena Witzdam works on the development of adaptive hemocompatible coatings for medical applications. The coatings are engineered to passively prevent thrombus formation by modification with polymer brushes but are also able to communicate with blood and direct it in a self-regulated manner. The inspiration for this is nature and the mechanisms used by the body to achieve a balance between clotting and fibrinolysis.
Lena Witzdam is part of the RG Rodriguez-Emmenegger.
