Junjie Liu's research focuses on the development of functional dendrimer-based crosslinked polysaccharides to create hydro-, micro-, and nanogels utilizing dynamic covalent bonds. Specifically, Generation 3 poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers are modified with phenylboronic acid and combined with various polysaccharides, such as hyaluronic acid, dextran, and chitosan. By altering reaction conditions, these components form hydrogels, microgels, or nanogels. The resulting gels exhibit pH- and ROS-responsive fracture properties, making them promising candidates for applications in tumor and inflammation treatments.
