Research interest
Fabian Meyer's research focuses on the mechanochemical synthesis of thermo-responsive microgels. Unlike other techniques such as precipitation polymerization or droplet-based synthesis approaches, mechanosynthesis does not rely on solvents and is almost always performed in the dry state. The goal is to synthesize or post-modify both known and novel microgel architectures by carefully selecting milling conditions and parameters. Another focus is on the mechanochemical modification or crosslinking of polysaccharides such as chitin, chitosan, or pectin.
Fabian Meyer is part of the Pich Research Group.
