Support & resources

The objectives of the fiT are to improve researchers' skills, identify and remove barriers of clinical translation, and support technology assessment. Further, we organize and support the formation of multidisciplinary project teams to facilitate and streamline the translational process of academic research into a first-in-human trial. Therefore, the central task of the Joint Lab fiT is to support and guide researchers through the translational research phase by consulting and connecting them with internal and external partners who provide comprehensive preclinical and clinical product development services in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

Beratung durch das Translationsteam

The fiT is a translational research hub providing expertise, resources and support to researchers, clinicians and scientists to promote their project ideas and promising research results.

Together, we will evaluate your research idea, provide advice on setting up a rational and stepwise project plan compliant with the required regulatory framework and requirements including conformity to ISO and GMP.

Through the fiT and in very close collaboration with experts from the Center for Translational & Clinical Research (CTC-A) and the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen (University Hospital of RWTH Aachen University), you will get the opportunity to translate your research results into clinical practice.

The fiT infrastructure provides clean rooms to research groups for clinical manufacturing of novel medical devices that are the result of pre-competitive research.

The fiT team is dedicated to educate and train students and individual research groups to gain expertise for translating ideas into innovative healthcare solutions.
