ReWIRE 2026: International Perspectives on Spinal Cord Repair
𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺? Lots of science. Lots of discussion. New connections. And, apparently, a surprisingly competitive Kahoot evening. 🧠
As part of the EU-funded ReWIRE project, the International Neuromodulation Conference brought together researchers from across the field in Bergisch Gladbach from August 24-26, 2026 as the project enters its final months.
Across three days, the program spanned the full spectrum 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹𝘀, 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Talks by internationally renowned experts covered topics such as axon regeneration, neuroplasticity, injectable hydrogels, supramolecular neuromodulation, flexible neural electrodes, brain-computer interfaces and brain-controlled bionic hands.
For the early-career researchers who presented their posters, the conference offered a great opportunity to connect and exchange with experts. Congratulations to the Poster Award winners for their excellent work:
