DWI - Leibniz Institute receives TOTAL E-QUALITY predicate

04.07.2019

The DWI - Leibniz Institute is a research institution that takes on the challenge of transcending disciplinary boundaries and asking new questions for materials and materials that combine technology and nature. It is a place where people with different talents, experiences and competencies work together to learn from each other and to create new knowledge and new methods for a better life in our world.

The commitment to equal opportunities and diversity forms an essential basis for the work of the institute and is firmly anchored in the institute's structure. The DWI appreciates the diversity of its members and employees and values it as a source of inventiveness to achieve new knowledge and methods for common goals in science and research. Fairness towards each other is regarded as a matter of course – regardless of gender, religion, age, origin, health impairment and status. For its special commitment to equal opportunities and diversity, the DWI receives this year's TOTAL E-QUALITY predicate with the addition DIVERSITY. The awarding ceremony will take place on 5 November 2019 in Munich.

With this award, the association TOTAL E-QUALITY Germany e. V. decorates organizations from business, science and administration that are particularly committed to equal opportunities for women and men and to promoting diversity in their institutions.

The DWI supports equal opportunities for employees in a variety of ways. Examples include flexible working hours, part-time work, temporary release of attendance, mobile work, a parent-child office, and help in finding childcare. To further promote equal opportunities and diversity, an in-house working group was established in January 2019. Its tasks include identifying the need for specific measures, setting targets and indicators of success, and initiating the implementation of the measures.
