A microgel clock
The project aims to develop a mesoscopic self-oscillatory device based on microgel. The clock principle involves the absorption of light energy by metallic nanoparticles embedded in the microgel. Its self-oscillatory periodic motion is powered by the light energy. In addition, a feedback mechanism to self-modulate the absorption will be developed. The project combines chemistry, physics and theory only possible within the framework provided by the DFG Collaborative Research Centre.
