Experimental and model-based investigation of microgel synthesis (SFB 985 B4)
We investigate the microgel formation by precipitation polymerization using reaction calorimetry. A model-based approach supports prediction of polymerization kinetics, particle nucleation and growth including design of experiments. The established model fits experimental data, with simulated reaction rate constants. The goal is to develop a model-based process for microgel production for scale-up industrial purposes.
