Research interest
Laura Klasen's research addresses the development of 3D macroporous microgel assemblies to expand and differentiate stem cells. The main research focus is on the expansion and differentiation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) in these macroporous assemblies to generate cardiovascular tissue. Thereby the influence of mechanical stimuli exhibited by the biomaterials on the cellular responses is analyzed. The superior motive for this research focus is the production of in vitro vascularized human heart tissue for drug testing and disease modeling.
Laura Klasen is part of the RG De Laporte.
