Dr. Emilia Izak-Nau

Research interest

Within the scope of her DFG Walter Benjamin position, Emilia Izak-Nau develops systems, which are able to release small molecules, while triggered by low-power external radiofrequency fields (RF). In this context, she focusses on a formation of iron oxide-core/polymer-shell nanoparticles of different sizes as nanocarriers for different drugs/molecules. She investigates the response of a variety of polymer shells to applied RF to understand their mechanical behavior and the associated molecular release processes. Such systems are of great interest in the field of medicine, as they enable the remote controlled release of drugs.

Dr. Emilia Izak-Nau is part of the RG Göstl.
