PhD student
Carolina Itzin, M.Sc.
Research interest
Carolina Itzin is working to create anisotropic threedimensional hydrogel systems which will help to investigate the influence of competing guidance cues on cell growth and mimic the threedimensional anisotropy of natural tissues. To create these hydrogel systems, she produces a variety of rod-shaped microgels via microfluidics and Particle Replication in Non-wetting Templates (PRINT). Carolina is a member of the DFG graduate college "Mechanobiology in Epithelial 3D Tissue Constructs" (ME3T) in the project area D1 - Natural and synthetic hybrid hydrogels to study the effect of mechanical anisotropy on cell behavior and guidance.
Carolina Itzin is part of the RG De Laporte.
