Efficient and reliable research and development (R&D) is essential to solve global challenges related to climate change, water supply and health care. This also involves the development of new products and alternatives to conventional processes. The vision of Daniel Menne and his colleagues at FURTHR is to contribute to these necessary advances in research and development in a sustainable manner through efficient data processing, storage and documentation. Their mission is to make the handling of data in research simple, reliable and transparent.
FURTHR is a spin-off of DWI and Aachener Verfahrenstechnik (AVT). The idea for a versatile software for research data management was born in 2012 during the doctoral studies of founder and CEO Daniel Menne. In 2017 the idea resulted in a start-up.
The most important requirement for the sustainable development of new approaches or technologies is the provision of complete and reusable research data sets. The mission of FURTHResearch is to contribute to sustainable R&D through efficient data processing, storage and documentation. This also includes the goal of making data processing in research simple, reliable and transparent. The software FURTHRmind supports researchers in managing research data according to the FAIR principle (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) and in ensuring the longevity of the data. Besides the generic software FURTHRmind, FURTHResearch offers its customers further individual solutions:
- Applications: Tailor-made applications for the software FURTHRmind enable standard analyses to be carried out quickly.
- Consulting on research data management: FURTHResearch advises its customers on all aspects of research data management.
- Workshops: The introduction of the software is always accompanied by individual training.
- Change Management Consulting: FURTHResearch acts as a change management consultant for customers implementing far-reaching change processes in the area of research data management.
The FURTHResearch team consists of experienced researchers, engineers and developers. They are convinced that the availability of reusable data will be of central relevance in times of AI-supported research and development. With this knowledge we provide solutions for research data management in almost all research areas.
Together with the DWI, FURTHResearch continuously develops the software FURTHRmind. Thus, FURTHResearch provides DWI with an advanced tailor-made software solution for the efficient and excellent use of data generated in interdisciplinary research for the development of complex interactive materials.
