Sino-German Symposium as guest in Aachen

16.11.2019

At the invitation of Prof. Dr. Andrj Pich and Prof. Dr. Xiangyang Shi, the Joint Sino-German Symposium took place at the DWI - Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials from 14. to 15. November 2019. The symposium brought together over 60 German and Chinese scientists from various disciplines such as chemistry, engineering and physics. Within their disciplines, they are working on research areas such as polymer chemistry, biointerfaces, biohybrid materials and biomedicine.

The participants of the symposium had a common research focus: the investigation of colloidal systems for biomedical applications. During the two days the focus was on the aspects of synthesis, characterization and application of functional colloids in biomaterials. A program of 15 lectures and insights into the current state of research promoted the exchange of ideas and the development of new ideas.

Special thanks go to the Chinese-German Center for Science Promotion (CDZ), as its financial support made the symposium possible. The following symposium will take place from 8.11. to 10.11.2020 at Donghua University in Shanghai, China.

The CDZ, founded in 1998, aims to promote scientific cooperation between Germany and China in the fields of life sciences, management and engineering. It is a research funding institution established as a joint venture between the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
