Polymer-Coin receives award as worldwide technologically most innovative circulation coin

Every two years the directors of from all over the worl meet to award prizes for the best coin developments. This year at the 29thMint Directors Conference (MDC) in Bangkok at the forth of May the german polymer-coin received the MDC-Award. This distinction is granted only by the highest-ranking representatives of all mints that are members of the Mint Directors Conference.  It is the most prestigious award a coin can achieve. The german polymer-coin “planet earth” with a nominal value of five euros was issued at the 14th of April this year and is already sold out. It is the result of years of research, including research at DWI.
