Innovation Award of the BioRegions Germany

Dr. Felix Jakob, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Schwaneberg and Prof. Dr. Andrij Pich received the Innovation Award of the BioRegions Germany for their research project ‘GreenRelease for Plant Health’. The scientists developed microgel containers that adhere to plant surfaces even when it rains and that allow slow release of required substances from these containers. The jury explained that this approach could help to reduce the use of chemicals on the fields and would thereby solve a major problem in agriculture.
