Farewell of the Administrative Director T.D. Thanh Nguyen

Ms. Nguyen is taking her leave as Administrative Director and Board Member of the DWI to pursue new challenges at her own request as of June 01, 2022. Since her appointment as administrative director in 2013, she has supported the institute over her tenure, including the implementation of the first extension building and the institute's admission to the Leibniz Association in 2014.

"People often ask why someone says goodbye, but I think it's much more important to emphasize why they have stayed for such a long time. I have to say that you were a really good reason for me to be part of the DWI - team members I could rely on, with whom I had many constructive discussions and in whose presence I simply felt in good hands," summarized the outgoing Administrative Director in her farewell address to the staff.

In addition to further structural developments, she accompanied the transformation of the DWI, which led to its admission to the Leibniz Association in 2014. Thus, the DWI became Aachen's first and so far only Leibniz Institute. Furthermore, she participated in the working group "Equal Opportunity and Diversity" and played a major role in helping the DWI to sign the Charta of Diversity. One of her last major projects was the initiation and supervision of the new building "Leibniz Joint Lab first in Translation".

The DWI wishes Ms. Nguyen much success and all the best for her future path and looks back on many years of valuable cooperation.
