Annual Report 2021

28.07.2022

The annual report for the year 2021 is now available online. Descriptions of the individual research programs, the Center for Chemical Polymer Technology, the Friends of the German Wool Research Institute Aachen e.V., and the obituary for Om Prakash Garg, founder of the Garg Foundation, can be found in the chapter "The Institute".

The following chapter presents various highlights of the past year. For example, the DWI benefits from the expertise of Silvia Centeno Benigno in the field of spectroscopy and microscopy since the beginning of 2021, the second cohort of students of the Max Planck School Master's program "Matter to Life" have visited Aachen, and the European Academy of Sciences has appointed Stefan Hecht as a new Fellow.
In addition, Alexandra Rommerskirchen and Robert Göstl were awarded two prestigious scientific prizes: the engineer received the Bertha Benz Prize and the polymer mechanochemist the ADUC Prize. In addition, we were pleased to welcome two new scientists who are pursuing their research within the framework of an Alexander von Humboldt fellowship.

In the next chapter, relevant institutional figures, data and facts, further information on the committees, awards, theses, lectures held, patents and publications are shown.

Finally, we would like to express our gratitude to our friends, supporters, and especially our grantors and committees for their support and the constructive cooperation.
