When rigid components reach their limits, soft materials open up new possibilities. 🤖
Soft robots can deform, adapt to complex surroundings and safely interact with delicate objects or living tissue – capabilities that are difficult to achieve with conventional rigid machines. From artificial muscles and adaptive grippers to small robots operating in confined environments, soft robotics is expanding what machines can do.
On September 16, 2026, the DWI will bring together researchers from across these disciplines for the "Interactive Materials Talks - Soft Robotics".
