MBA master thesis/Internship position on 3D bioprinting

Project description:

3D bioprinting is a novel technique that allows for the fabrication of ex vivo human tissue models, consisting of living cells and biomaterials. At DWI, we aim to develop a next generation of 3D bioprinting technology, which enables the fabrication of complex artificial tissue models that closely mimic human tissue organization. These models can be used for drug discovery to obtain a better understanding of physiological and pathological mechanisms, and in the future to replace diseased or injured tissues and organs. Compared to other bioprinting technologies, our platform will better predict the efficacy and safety of the tested drugs and significantly decrease healthcare costs by reducing the required amount of personnel, infrastructure, an animal experiments associated to a new drug development.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

As part of a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, and bioengineers, you will be responsible for:

  • Performing a detailed market analysis.
  • Contacting potential users from pharmaceutical industry and research institutions.
  • Developing a business model according to the intended product portfolio.
  • Participate in regular product development meetings and present progress reports.

Your Profile:

  • Education in MBA (Marketing, Business planning, Entrepreneurship) or related field of study from a recognized graduate program.
  • Data analysis, market research and/or healthcare industry experience is a plus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with potential users.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude, self-motivated, flexible, and ability to motivate, collaborate, and influence.
  • Team-player and a strong communicator both in written and verbal (English and German).
