Dies umfasst Techniken aus der Molekularbiologie (verschiedene Klonierungsverfahren, Proteindesign, Produktion und Aufreinigung), Techniken aus der Zellbiologie (Säugetierzellen, Hefezellen, Bakterienzellen, Gen-Editing (zB CRISPR), konfokale Fluoreszenzmikroskopie), Techniken aus der Biophysik (Elektrophysiologie), Vesikelbildung, Fluorometrie, Circulardichroismus) und Chemie (posttranslationale Proteinmodifikation, native chemische Ligation, synthetische organische Chemie, physikalische Chemie und eine Reihe analytischer Techniken).
