PhD student
Susan Babu, M.Sc.
Research interest
Susan Babu designs an injectable anisotropic hydrogel system called Anisogel to direct nerve growth, and investigates how its material and structural design parameters affect oriented nerve extension. She produces rod-shaped microgels using PRINT and develops new microfluidic techniques to continuously produce rod-shape microgels with diameters smaller than 5 µm. Susan is a member of the Max Planck School 'Matter to Life' and the DFG Graduate School 'Mechanobiology in 3D Epithelial Tissue Constructs (ME3T)'. Project Area D1: Natural and synthetic hybrid hydrogels to study the effect of mechanical anisotropy on cell behavior and guidance
Susan Babu is part of the RG De Laporte.
