Pascal Jeschenko's research revolves around the controlled synthesis and evaluation of hydrophilic, surface active copolymers based on methacrylates and N-vinylamides via group transfer polymerisation and tellurium-mediated radical polymerisation. Double hydrophilicity of the synthesized polymers prevents competing processes such as aggregation and foam formation in aqueous solution, thus increasing the efficiency of the polymers for their desired purpose, such as adsorption onto a surface. The synthesized macromolecules are used as dispersing agents for nanoparticles in water or starting material for polymer-based vesicles.
