Christoph Baumann, M.Sc.
Christoph Baumann is working on the synthetic development of new mechanofluorophores based on 9-π-extended anthracenes for the spatially resolved detection of mechanical forces in materials. The aim of his research is to tune the optical properties (absorption and fluorescence) of such force probes to open up new detection pathways for force in polymer material research. Especially the force-sensing in non-uniform materials shall be achieved by using multicolor mechanofluorophores.
Christoph Bauman is part of the RG Göstl.
