DWI – Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials is a research institution financed by the Federal Government and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is member of the Leibniz Association and is located at the Campus Melaten of the RWTH Aachen University. Here international young and experienced scientists belonging to different disciplines develop interactive materials according to the principles of nature.

Chemical laboratory assistant (d/f/m)
The full-time position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and is initially limited to two years, with the option of renewal or conversion to permanent employment.
Remuneration is done under similar conditions as the collective agreement for public service of the federal states (TV-L).
DWI offers you a wide range of possibilities to develop further both professionally and personally in an interdisciplinary setting. The position is located in the area of polymer synthesis and modification and the synthesis of organic compounds.
Organization, preparation and practical implementation of polymer syntheses, polymer modifications and syntheses of organic compounds
Characterization of the products by different methods of instrumental analysis (e.g. NMR, SEC)
Documentation of the results
General organizational tasks in the laboratory area
Successfully completed training as a chemical laboratory technician or a comparable qualification
Good knowledge of polymer chemistry and / or organic chemistry
Ideally, first experience in dealing with hazardous substances under a protective gas atmosphere
Knowledge in the field of instrumental analysis is an advantage
Independent and precise way of working and a high degree of flexibility
We require reliability, loyalty and a healthy attitude to work
Good expertise with MS Office and good skills of spoken and written English complete your profile
