Cell Culture Laboratory Technician (m/f/d)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team to support various research activities conducted in the cell culture lab. At DWI, we work with a highly interdisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, and bioengineers developing biohybrid and bioinspired materials for advanced medical applications. By working on new synthetic materials and their combination with novel manufacturing techniques, we design low-invasive polymeric regenerative hydrogel therapies for nerve regeneration, dynamic hydrogels for drug delivery and mechanobiology, and 3D bioprinting of human tissue like structures.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Learn, perform and help implement experimental protocols, including 2D and 3D cell culturing techniques, imaging (bright field and fluorescent), and cellular/molecular assays.
  • Work with internal and external resources to maintain, calibrate, and operate laboratory equipment/instruments.
  • Ensure laboratory organization, prepare order sheets, get in contact with vendors, and track laboratory supplies.
  • Work with internal and external resources to review procedures and methods, maintain documentation and submissions to regulatory agencies (Biological safety level 1 (S1)).
  • Support the research team with routine tasks.

Your Profile:

  • You have a degree as laboratory technician (preferably BTA/MTA).
  • Experience in cell culture techniques.   
  • Experience in basic molecular/cellular assays including: ELISA, Western blot, PCR, immunostaining, microscopy.
  • Interested in both practical and organizational tasks.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) in both English and German.
  • Team player and willingness to work in a high pace working environment.
  • Creative and with a big interest in research and development.
